MEET BEN
Farming since 2012. Ben started in a traineeship funded through the Grazing Animals Project, focusing on Conservation Grazing. He has since worked for several farms in the South West of England and is currently the Farm Manager for Cherry Lodge Farm. Nomadic Farmers was founded in 2025 alongside it's contracting services, Hanley Contracting in 2025.

Ben is passionate about working with nature for nature. Offering meat that has had a good life, that is good for you, and the environment.Â
Once the grazing season is over, the stock will be removed from the site, ready to return the following year. In return for the free grass, our clients always receive a lamb box or sheep rug free of charge.

Each site and situation is different. Whether this is a habitat creation project or just routine maintenance, there may be work required to carry out before or alongside grazing management such as fencing, clearance work, field management or more major habitat management work. Whatever the task, our sister company; Hanley Contracting, will be able to deliver the practical land management work.

First we visit the site and explore what grazing options would work best for the land. Our livestock can graze most habitats provided there is an element of grass!Â

We will then decide on when best to graze the land depending on your goals and situation and the number of livestock needed. A grazing agreement will then be written up and signed by both parties. Once this is done, the grazing can begin.
